About Our Beans
Rich, aromatic, and flavorful!
The Bean Lover is dedicated to providing you with the richest, most aromatic and flavorful coffees available. Our 100% Arabica beans are carefully selected from the world's finest coffee plantations and then consistently slow roasted to produce what the Fine Food and Beverage Federation of America has awarded "The Finest Coffee in America"!

Our Beans -- At Bean Lover, we offer only 100% fine Arabica beans that are carefully chosen from plantations in more than 30 countries around the world. All of our coffees are hand-selected, 100% sun-dried, and roasted in small batches using the European method of slow roasting. The beans are then air-cooled and packaged while still warm in patented valve bags to ensure the ultimate in freshness. We proudly offer coffees that are certified organic, fair trade, and are rainforest-, bird-, and environment-friendly. (All of our coffees are ISO 9002 and Kosher certified. This ensures you, the buyer, that we strictly follow procedures mandated by the International Quality Assurance Program.)

Our Roasts -- The first characteristic to choose when selecting a coffee is its roast. The darker the roast, the less true coffee flavor. We offer 4 separate roasts, each with its own distinctly different taste.

  • Peak City Roast -- the roast that true coffee connoisseurs prefer, is our standard roast and the lightest roast available. If you like lots of coffee flavor and higher caffeine levels (does not apply to decaf. coffees), then this is the roast for you! The Peak City Roast is characterized by chestnut brown beans with no oil on their surface.
  • Vienna Roast -- is a medium roast coffee and is characterized by dark brown color with small spots of oil on the bean’s surface. If you want something with a little more roast flavor than our peak city then this is your roast.
  • Italian Roast -- is a dark roast coffee and is characterized by dark brown color with rich amounts of oil on the bean’s surface. If you want an extremely strong roast flavor while retaining a good amount of coffee flavor then this is the roast for you.
  • French Roast -- is our darkest roast coffee and probably the darkest coffee available in the world. It is characterized by black color with large amounts of oil on the bean’s surface. Coffee flavor at this roast is 95% roast flavor and 5% coffee flavor. Sort of like drinking a cup of smoke with a coffee finish.

Our Grinds There is no right or wrong "best" method of coffee brewing. Whichever method you choose, though, be sure to choose the right grind. To determine the grind you need, consider this simple "rule" - the longer the brewing cycle, the coarser the grind. We offer several different grinds to choose from.

  • Whole Bean -- Truly the freshest way to brew coffee! To ensure the freshest, most aromatic cup of coffee, start with whole beans and grind only what is needed for each cup or pot. Small individual grinders are very affordable and are available at most discount stores.
  • Ground - Percolator -- A coarse grind used with percolator type coffee makers. Very large coarse granules.
  • Ground - French Press -- A coarse to medium grind used with a plunger or French press coffee maker. Medium to large coarse granules.
  • Ground - Auto Drip -- A medium grind used for electric drip brewers with basket filters. Slightly gritty with the texture of salt or sugar granules.
  • Ground - Espresso -- A very fine grind to be used with espresso/cappuccino makers. Has a fine, powdery texture similar to cornmeal.
